Being at such an amazing camp with such great people it makes sense that we should spend less time on our phones and more time with the people around us. Yet, despite this it's still hard for all of us to just up and leave our phones.
We're so used to carrying them around; so used to whipping them open and playing a game or texting somebody when we get bored. After noticing this problem, Renezel decided to have everyone put their phones in the middle of the table. Everyone at Nalukai agreed with her idea and wanted to interact within the group. We wanted to talk to others and create better, stronger friendships.
We all came to an agreement that if we used our phones during a meal, that person would have to clean up everyones dishes. Good thing we didn't want to do that! Without our phones the students unplugged from social media but in turn connected on a deeper level.
